Our Mission

Javouhey House, by the gingko tree,
serves all who seek
to nurture their spirituality
and prayer
on life's journey.

Javouhey House
was founded in 2003
by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny,
a religious congregation
in the Roman Catholic tradition.

Cluny Sisters and their Affiliates, Associates and co-workers
staff our programs.
We welcome seekers of all faith traditions.

Our gingko tree was planted in July, 2002 .
For over 20 years it has shaded and inspired many seekers.
The tree is a gift from Cluny Affiliates Paul and Mary Gagne..

Javouhey House is named after
Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey,
founder of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny.

Anne Marie gathered many lay women and men
in prayer and action
for the liberation of those held bound
by slavery, mental illness,
and the many aspects of poverty.

Today over 2,000 women, inspired by her life, continue in her spirit
to go to the borders and cross frontiers
to bring the message
of God's great love to all who are in need.
