What is Spiritual Accompaniment?

What is it?
It is a spiritual relationship between two persons in which a trained guide prays with and for you, listens carefully, helping you to become more aware of God’s presence in your life, and to grow in the ways of prayer and discernment.

Why engage in a spiritual relationship?
A spiritual guide can support you in your efforts to grow spiritually by
guiding you in prayer
teaching you appropriate spiritual practices
helping you attain greater clarity in making important decisions
offering spiritual resources
accompanying you on life’s journey

The following questions may help you decide.

Do you

  • seek deeper meaning in life?
  • have an important decision to make?
  • want to or have to make a big change in your life?
  • feel like you’re drifting . . . or stagnating?
  • thirst for more?
  • desire to be refreshed by God?

A guide will meet with you on a monthly basis. The first appointment or two provide the opportunity for you and the spiritual guide to pray together and get to know one another before mutually agreeing to establish the spiritual relationship. You are always free to terminate the relationship at any time.

Cluny Sisters do not charge a set fee for spiritual accompaniment, but they welcome a donation, according to your means.
